A Real World Learning Experience: Acquiring
Language and Culture in the Dominican Republic
Students will receive three (3) undergraduate credits from
PUCMM. The class will be taught by a professor from
PUCMM.
St. John’s Course Offerings:
In addition to the Spanish conversation course, students also have
the opportunity to take courses through St. John’s School of
Education and receive up to six (6) graduate credits for any of the
following TESOL course offerings:
EDU 9002: Psychology and Sociology of Language and
Bilingualism
EDU 9006: Human Development in Cross-Cultural
Perspective
EDU 9013: Research in Language, Culture and
Communication
Students who wish to take one or two of these classes must register
and make payment of St. John’s tuition/fees in addition to all
other costs incurred by the
Study Abroad Program.
Dates
June 18 and 25 (pre-departure orientation at St. John’s)
June 28-July 13 (overseas phase in Santiago, The Dominican
Republic)
August 3 (post-seminar at St. John’s)
*Application and a $550 deposit due on or
before March 15, 2009
