Dr. Fitzgerald joined the faculty at St. John’s in the fall of 2008. Prior to that, he was an adjunct professor at Fordham University and Villanova University. His current specialization is in moral theology of health care, and he has also taught and researched in the areas of fundamental moral theology, philosophy of religion, and interreligious dialogue. One of his current research projects is completing a book manuscript of his dissertation, “Doing Good (or Evil) and Personal Fulfillment in the Thought of Abraham Joshua Heschel and Karol Wojtyła/John Paul II.” Dr. Fitzgerald is a member of the Society of Christian Ethics and the Catholic Theological Society of America, and an active participant in the Pet Therapy Program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
