Jean-Pierre Ruiz is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of
Hispanic/Latino Theology and Associate Editor of the
Catholic Biblical Quarterly. Past-President of the Academy
of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States (ACHTUS), he
currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the
Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States
(ACHTUS), as a member of the Committee on Underrepresented Racial
and Ethnic Minorities in the Profession of the Society of Biblical
Literature and as a member of the Computer Committee of the
Catholic Biblical Association of America. Active in ecumenical and
interreligious dialogue, Father Ruiz is a member of the Roman
Catholic--Southern Baptist Conversation, jointly sponsored by the
National Conference of Catholic Bishops/United States Catholic
Conference and the Southern Baptist Convention. He also works with
the New Media Translations project of the American Bible Society to
develop pioneering multimedia translations of the Bible. Ruiz has
hosted and co-hosted a number of radio and television programs, and
was a participant in the nationally broadcast Bill Moyers series,
Genesis: A Living Conversation.
