Scholarship
My areas of scholarship and research include ecclesiology, with
particular focus on tradition, discipleship and Catholic identity;
globalization and inculturation as they relate to mission
theology and missiology; the theology of Yves Congar, OP and
Vatican II; theology and the concerns of women.
My dissertation, “Traditioning Disciples: The
Contributions of Cultural Anthropology to Ecclesial Identity,”
argues for a semiotic approach to sacred tradition that utilizes
discipleship as the interpretative key for assessing the
tradition’s transformative capacities.
