Students learn from a nationally acclaimed faculty of scholars
and practioners. Students have opportunities to conduct research
and participate in field work at St. John’s Center for
Psychological Services, a state-of-the-art facility that serves
community residents in Queens, NY.
Psychology students can gain an academic and professional edge
by joining the Psychology
Club. One of more than 180 student clubs and organizations at
St. John's University, the Psychology Club provides a warm, social
atmosphere. The club holds events and discussions that enhance
members' educational experience while assisting students in their
preparation for their careers and graduate study.
St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers
membership in two honor societies of special interest to psychology
majors:
- Psi Chi: The St. John's Chapter of this
international honor society.
- Roger Bacon Society: For students in Biology,
Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Physics or
Psychology.
All new students receive their own wireless laptop
computer with full access to St. John’s award-winning network.
Facilities include high-tech classrooms, laboratories and our 1.7
million-volume University Library. Our new D’Angelo
Center is a five-story, 127,000-square-foot University and
Student Center with classrooms, lecture halls, a Starbucks Café and
a full-service food court.
Students also benefit from St. John’s location in dynamic New York
City. Our faculty and Career Center have strong ties to
employers and other professional and educational resources
throughout the New York area. Students make New York their
classroom through innovative courses like Discover New York.
Students also benefit from St. John's focus on an international
academic experience. The University offers extensive study abroad
courses during the academic year as well as the winter and summer
semesters. Students can live and learn at St. John's Rome,
Italy, campus and Paris,
