Dr. Kate Walton is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at St.
John's University. She earned her Ph.D. in personality psychology
from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Most recently,
she completed postdoctoral training in the clinical science and
psychopathology research program in the Department of Psychology at
the University of Minnesota. In 2005, Dr. Walton received the J.S.
Tanaka Dissertation Award for methodological and substantive
contributions to the field of personality psychology.
Research Interests
Dr. Walton studies the relationship between personality and
antisocial behavior, as well as the relationship between normal
personality traits and DSM defined personality disorders and
abnormal personality constructs, such as psychopathy. She is also
interested in personality assessment, particularly in the
development of inventories with the breadth to cover the full
continuum from normal to abnormal variants of traits.
