PROFILE
Thomas Avery has been a member of the Philosophy Department since 1998.   Professor Avery has also taught at Lehman College, Hunter College, New York City College of Technology, and Long Island University.  He is a member of the American Philosophical Association and the Long Island Philosophical Society, has been a member of the CUNY Association of Scholars, and is currently a supporter of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.  He recently delivered a paper, “Three Problems of Stakeholder Theory,”  at a conference of the Long Island Philosophical Society and is currently working on  “An Examination of Milton Friedman’s Stockholder Theory.”
