Joseph A. Bongiomo is associate professor of history at St.
John's University, Staten Island Campus. He received his doctorate
in European Diplomatic History at the University of Connecticut
Storrs. (1990). He also obtained his Juris Doctor degree at New
York Law School in 1998. He was also recently awarded a Master's
Degree in American Studies from Columbia University (2000). His
publications include a book entitled Fascist Italy and the
Disarmament Question 1928-1934 (Garland Press 1991) and articles
concerning contemporary Italian politics, New England/Connecticut
history and international law and organization. He is between US
Presidents and UN Secretaries-General and the other concerning
Italy's diplomatic role in both the League of Nations and United
Nations. He teaches courses related to United States, Canadian,
Latin American, Caribbean and Italian history. He served in the
United States Naval Reserve having achieved the rank of Lieutenant
Commander.
