History majors gain a solid understanding of the
historical forces that have shaped today's global society. They
also develop valuable communications and writing skills that are
vital to the discipline — and to professional success in virtually
any field.
In their efforts, they are guided and mentored by St. John's
internationally recognized faculty of scholar-teachers.
Students develop a strong academic and professional edge by
joining any of St. John's more than 180 student
clubs, organizations and honor societies. Those of special
interest to History majors include the following:
- Phi Alpha Theta: History
- Omicron Delta Epsilon: Economics
- Alpha Zappa Delta: Sociology
- Sigma Tau Delta: English
The Skull and Circle Honor Society and the
Lambda Kappa Phi Honor Society annually select
students from St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who
combine scholarship, integrity and dedicated service to the St.
John's community.
