Advantages of Minoring in Women’s and
Gender Studies
A minor in Women’s and Gender Studies provides students with
knowledge of the cultural, social and political forces that shape
our concepts of gender and the world around us. As an
interdisciplinary program, Women’s and Gender Studies allows
students to develop strong analytical, communications and research
skills.
The resulting intellectual breadth, depth and vigor are
qualities that promote success in virtually any field. In
addition, students who minor in Women’s and Gender Studies have
enjoyed particular success in graduate programs in philosophy,
sociology, law, psychology and political theory.
