Advantages of Minoring in Women’s and Gender Studies
A minor in Women’s and Gender Studies provides students with knowledge of the cultural, social and political forces that shape our concepts of gender and the world around us.  As an interdisciplinary program, Women’s and Gender Studies allows students to develop strong analytical, communications and research skills.

The resulting intellectual breadth, depth and vigor are qualities that promote success in virtually any field.  In addition, students who minor in Women’s and Gender Studies have enjoyed particular success in graduate programs in philosophy, sociology, law, psychology and political theory.

The National Women’s Studies Association
The National Women’s Studies Association leads the field of women’s studies in educational and social transformation. Established in 1977, NWSA is a professional organization dedicated to leading the field of women’s studies, as well as its teaching, learning, research, and service wherever they be found.

American Men’s Studies Association
The American Men’s Studies Association (AMSA) advances the critical study of men and masculinities by encouraging the development of teaching, research and clinical practice in the field of men’s studies.  AMSA is an independent organization that provides a forum for teachers, researchers, students and practitioners to exchange information and to gain support for work on men and masculinities.
