The Department of Government and Politics provides students with
the intellectual background and analytical skills to evaluate the
issues confronting civic leaders, government officials and
government organizations in the United States and around the
world.
Students learn
how to:
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in
writing.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively
analyze political science issues.
- Examine specific conflicts concerning the “authoritative
allocation of values (resources) “ that form the core of political
science across the subfields of American Government, International
Relations/Comparative Politics, Political Theory and Public
Administration.
- Identify the discipline’s primary informational resources for
research.
