Objectives
The Department of Government and Politics provides students with
the intellectual background and analytical skills to evaluate the
issues confronting governments in the United States and around the
world. The Department's objectives include preparing students for:
a career in the civil or foreign service; a position of political
or administrative responsibility in the public or private sectors;
a career in the field of education; and/or a focus on independent
scholarship.
