To declare a minor, simply pick up a form in St. John's
Hall, Rm. 145. Students wishing to minor in English or Creative
Writing must take 21 total credits (7 classes). All English
elective courses must be taken through St. John's College, not the
College of Professional Studies (CPS). Each minor is broken into 2
sections, core and minor requirements:
Core Courses
- ENG 1100C: Core: English Composition
- ENG 2200: Introduction to English Studies
- ENG 2300: Introduction to Literary Criticism & Theory
Minor in English
- Nine credits (3 classes) in 2000 level or above (ENG 2100:
Literature and Culture can be counted only once for credit toward
the minor.)
- Senior seminar
Minor in Creative Writing
- English majors, fulfilling the normal English major
requirements (36 credits)
- Nine credits (3 classes) in creative writing electives
- Senior seminar
