Professor Gabriel Brownstein, an Assistant Professor in the Department of English, received his M.F.A in Writing from Columbia University.  His collection of stories, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Apt. 3W won the PEN/Hemingway Award for 2002.  For several years, Professor Brownstein has been a Lecturer at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he taught creative writing and literary analysis, and composition.  Prior to that, he was an adjunct professor at the following institutions: Barnard College, Parsons School of Design, and Long Island University.
