A highly respected teaching institution for over 100 years, The
School of Education is your pathway to one of the
most rewarding and challenging professions. Here you will
encounter a diverse population of faculty,
students and distinguished alumni.
Our graduates are always sought after both by public and private
schools. We not only succeed in graduating excellent teachers,
but here at St. John's we believe in graduating caring and
sensitive individuals. For this reason we require that all our
students become involved in service
learning.
Our students have completed many hours serving and participating
in Service Learning through the community in a variety of ways.
Some students choose to tutor or mentor while others may choose to
teach religious classes or after school activities. Service
learning is an excellent experience where future teachers learn the
value and importance of community service.
By working with children and volunteering to improve their lives
The School of Education students are living the Vincentian mission
of St. John's. The values and knowledge you receive from your
education here at the School of Education will remain with you for
your entire lifetime.
