What you need to know

All Education Majors,

Take a moment and learn what you need to know about being an education major.

Your responsibilities:

-Register for Teach Online

-Advisement

Students are encouraged to print out a copy of the worksheet for their major and update it with the courses they have completed, as well as the courses in which they are currently enrolled.

The School of Education Dean's Office suggests using the following legend when updating worksheets:

  • Place a check in the box of each course that has been completed at St. John’s.
  • Place a square around each course completed at another university or taken through AP, CLEP or DANTE exams. (Official transcripts must be submitted to the registrar's office in order for transfer credit to be awarded.)
  • Place the school semester/year (i.e., F11 = Fall 2011 semester or SP12 = Spring 2012) next to your current semester courses.

Bring your updated copy to your advisement appointment each semester along with your CAP report. ( Click here for directions for how to obtain your CAP report).

Important Note:
These requirement sheets are for The School of Education students who entered St. John’s University as of Fall 2011. Students who began studying at St. John’s before Fall 2011 should contact the Dean's Office (Sullivan Hall G-06) for a list of their requirements.
