Introducing the P.S. 247
College Partnership Program


P.S. 247 has embarked on a new journey to
prepare its elementary school students for
college! Our school in collaboration with
our corporate partner, Ivy Cohen Corporate
Communications, Inc., has developed
the P.S. 247 College Partnership
Program to prepare our students to
expect college to be a part of their education
continuum beyond elementary school.

 

The School of Education provides the following benefits to the students of P.S. 247

-Exposure to colleges in their daily lives at P.S. 247

-An environment that encourages and prepares them
to go to college as a part of their education

-College campus visits and tours

-Meeting and interacting with college professors,
staff and students at P.S. 247

-Exposure to exemplary public and private college
programs

-Attend The New York City’s College Partnership
Elementary School with a reputation for
preparing its students to attend college


Parent Benefitsof the Students of the P.S. 247

-Parents College Resource Center in the P.S.
247 Parent’s Room will have college literature and
information about school and degree program options,
how to apply to college and the admissions
process

-Information about grant and scholarship
opportunities

-Information about how to finance a college education,
including how to access financial aid and
loans

-Information about state and personal college savings
plans and ways to plan for your child’s academic
future

-Parents College Orientation where you can
meet with representatives from our partner colleges
to ask questions and learn about opportunities for
your family to access public and private colleges
