America Reads * America Counts

The America Reads * America Counts program calls on all Americans to support teachers as they help ensure that every American child can read well and independently by the end of third grade. St. John's University students play an important role in the America Reads Challenge by working with students who need extra help beyond the classroom. In addition, student employees also participate in volunteer services and charitable fundraisers benefiting the St. John's University community.

St. John's University can offer schools:

  • Tutoring in all subject areas - either individualized or small group instruction
  • Tutoring to improve students' comprehensive skills in reading and math
  • Mentoring to increase confidence and motivation

St. John's University is always looking for new schools to join the America Reads * America Counts Program.
