E-Portfolios in Student Teaching

What do I need to do to prepare for the ePortfolio Project?

The Professional ePortfolio serves as a digital resume of exemplary work related to teaching and learning.  Student Teachers should present a comprehensive set of artifacts that demonstrate their expertise as a competent, qualified, and caring teacher. During the Student Teaching, members of the ePortfolio team will meet with students one-on-one or in workshops to support the development of the Professional ePortfolio. In addition, online videos and printed material are available on online to guide students through the process. To prepare for ePortfolio development, students should begin the process of reviewing artifacts and selecting artifacts from their academic experience. The Professional Portfolio should include:

•    Teaching Philosophy Statement
•    Lesson Plan (one for each experience)
•    Service, Diversity, or Multicultural Project
•    Assessment Sample
•    Student Teaching Evaluations

Please Note:  All undergraduate students are required to create an ePortfolio as a requirement for all Student Teaching course.  Activation and subscription information will be distributed via email at the beginning of each semester. Please contact the ePortfolio Team at eportfoliosoe@stjohns.edu for more information or questions.
