Undergraduate Advisement

What an experience:

All students will meet with an academic Dean to ensure that they are on track to graduate on time.

Students are encouraged to print out a copy of the worksheet for their major and update it with the courses they have completed, as well as the courses in which they are currently enrolled.

The School of Education Dean's Office suggests using the following legend when updating worksheets:

  • Place a check by each course that has been completed at St. John’s.
  • Place a square around each course completed at another university or taken through AP, CLEP or DANTE exams. (Official transcripts must be submitted to the registrar's office in order for transfer credit to be awarded.)
  • Place the semester and the year next to your current semester courses. Example: F=Fall, W=Winter, Sp=Spring, S=Summer. Place the year by the semester Example: F11 or Sp12.

All students should:

1. Schedule an appointment each semester for advisement and to receive your priority number to register for classes.

2. Bring a copy of your advisement report (CAP) to verify what you have completed and need to take for the following semester(s).

3. Register for any exams or workshops not taken.
