Kappa Eta Chapter
Kappa Delta Pi is an International Honor Society in Education. This organization provides seminars and conventions for students who wish to become future teachers. As part of the St. John's campus, Kappa Delta Pi (Kappa Eta Chapter) –actively participates in on and off campus community service projects. In order to be considered for membership, the student must have a minimum of a 3.25 grade point average as well as complete a certain number of events each semester.

Contact letters are sent out during the summer for students who are interested.  During the month of September students are required to respond by email and complete an additional packet if they show continued interest.

Additional criteria:

  • Attend an orientation meeting
  • Complete five points of community service work before being inducted
  • Complete KDP application and membership form
  • Complete Induction Ceremony during the Fall or Spring of the semester

Alpha Beta Gamma Chapter
The Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, Alpha Beta Gamma Chapter, was installed on the Staten Island Campus on April 6, 2003. Kappa Delta Pi elects those to membership who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards, and promise in teaching and allied professions.

We will continue to induct members throughout many years to come.  Join us as we grow and become the best educators.  Membership is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduates must have a minimum of a 3.3 grade point average or higher and students must have a grade point average of 3.7 or higher. They must complete the application process.
