Roxanne Mitchell holds a Doctor of Education Degree in Education
Administration as well as a Certificate in International Studies
from Oklahoma State University. She has a Master of
Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern State
University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Oral
Roberts University. She has 23 years of combined experience
as a an administrator, licensed professional counselor and
certified school counselor both in the mental health community and
in the public shcool setting.
She is actively engaged in a research agenda focused on
understanding and improving the academic achievement of minority
students. While coming to St. John's from Oklahoma she is a
Native New Yorker and was born and raised on Long Island. She
has returned home with hopes of looking for solutions to assist in
impoving the achievement of those districts that have been plagued
by persistent problems of underachievement.
