A 29-count indictment was filed last Thursday in Queens Supreme
Court charging Corozzo, 67, who is currently on the lam, and 25
Gambino Family members and associates with operating a highly
sophisticated and lucrative illegal gambling outfit whose
headquarters was located in Woodhaven.

Abadinsky, Ph.D, professor of criminal justice at St. John’s
University in Jamaica. “The good news is that they’ve indicted and
hopefully will be able to convict a number of very, very bad
people, including the murderers of a court officer. The bad news
is: many people in organized crime – actual operatives, actual
street criminals – are going to look at this as an opportunity to
become part of the Gambino Family. This is an opportunity to get
made.”
