School of Law Student Frank P. Castel Honored as 2006 Soldier of the Year

November 10, 2006

Frank P. Castel, a second-year law student and a six year veteran of the US Army Reserve, has been honored by the 479th Chemical Battalion as the 2006 Soldier of the Year.  After having been selected as the soldier representative for the 320th Chemical Company where Frank serves as a Specialist, he competed for the prestigious award at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in October.  The award winner is chosen by a Board of Army Officers based upon the participants' physical fitness, civilian work, and over-all military performance records.

“Although being a part-time soldier can be challenging, my experiences in the military have been over-all positive and I am proud of having made the decision to join,” said Frank Castel.
