The Reading and Writing Education Center

The Reading and Writing Education Center

The Reading and Writing Education Center’s main goal is to help children enjoy reading and writing, do well academically, and continue onto higher education. Since 2004, the Reading and Writing Education Center has quadrupled in giving assistance to parents with struggling students. The center is unique because it offers an intimate one-to-one sessions from certified teachers who are trained in methodology. All tutors hold a specialization and many are graduates from the literacy program at St. John’s University. The Reading and Writing Education Center carries out the Vincentian mission at St. John’s University by offering affordable assistance to families while producing academic progress.

Testimonials(this was the best out of all of them)

“…just wanted to let you know that Daniel’s reading has improved so much! His first quarter report card was really great. Jackie has been doing an awesome job with him. When I attended Daniel’s parent-teacher conference the first thing they said was, ‘whatever they are doing at SJU its working.’ Anthony also had a great report card. It was actually his best report card ever. I can see a difference in his reading and writing. Catherine is really good with him. One other thing, they both, Catherine and Jackie really care about the progress. You can see they are really invested in their students. I shared report cards with them. They were both really happy.” –Parent of Daniel and Anthony
