Assistant Professor, Program Coordinator
Dr. Mithaug has been a full-time faculty member at St. John's University since September of 2000. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Washington, and an M.A. and M.Phil in Behavioral Disorders from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Mithaug also received her Ph.D. from Teachers College in the area of Special Education. She has taught in both private and public school settings for over 6 years in New York City and spent two years as a faculty member in the Department of Special Education at Eastern Illinois University. Dr. Mithaug's research interests are in the area of self-determination, teacher education, and online learning. In the department of special education, she teaches courses in research and behavior management, curriculum and instructional design, and practicum.
