Dr. Mark Meng has been working at St.
John's University since 1991. Currently he is the director of the
Loretto Memorial Library on Staten Island Campus. He has taught an
honor's course in Comparative Study of Literature and many library
instructional classes. He also teaches an online course, Discover
New York.
Dr. Meng's main research interest is in
the field of information acquisition skills. He has presented
several papers on developing online learning modules and on the
conceptual frameworks for information literacy instruction in
national and international conferences. He has also written
numerous book reviews in the areas of Asian Studies and Comparative
Literature for leading library and information science
journals.
A strong believer in liberal arts
education, Dr. Meng is committed to cultivating and preparing
college students for value added education and lifelong learning
skills. He promotes a student-centered approach in the classroom
which will encourage learners to discover their own potential and
to unbind their imagination.
