William Gangi

Dr. Gangi joined the St. John’s faculty in 1967 and has published extensively in various periodicals and law reviews, on judicial power and various Bill of Rights provisions. He also authored Saving the Constitution from the Courts.  He has served as Chairman of the Department, a consultant to the United States Senate, Committee on the Judiciary, in 1995 testifying as an expert witness before the Committee on coerced confessions and the exclusionary rule.  He has also served on the Technical Advisory Committee, Commission on the Human Immunodeficiency Epidemic in Nassau County, and the New York state Advisory Committee, United States Commission on Civil Rights.  Dr. Gangi teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Constitutional Law, Public Administration and the Federalist Papers.  He also regularly teaches American National Government in the Distance Learning program.
