Overview

If you’re an intellectually curious student with interests across various academic disciplines, the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program at St. John’s University offers you the opportunity to pursue multidisciplinary graduate education. The program features four tracks:

  • Humanities;
  • Social Science;
  • Cultural Studies (with an optional concentration in Women's and Gender Studies); and
  • Interdisciplinary Research.

The graduate liberal studies program at SJU will prepare you for a wide range of professional goals, as well as for further study in a doctoral program, though it is not designed to duplicate or replace the specialized disciplinary training required for a Ph.D. Its flexible curriculum and course scheduling is especially well-suited for working professionals pursuing a graduate degree part-time.
