Interdisciplinary Minors

American Studies

What is American Studies?
The Minor in American Studies is an innovative interdisciplinary program that lets students bring together their courses on the United States and emerge with a broad range of academic and professional skills. The courses for the 18 credit minor are drawn from three areas of expertise—the humanities, the social sciences, and art and media—that together are essential to the study of the United States, past, present, and future. With an American Studies minor, students gain not only a stronger understanding of our country as we find it but the vision and expertise that will help them to change it.

We offer the following interdisciplinary minors for students who wish to complement their major areas of study or focus their core requirements and general electives in particular directions.
