Thomas Bamundo ’10TCB
As a business major at St. John’s, Thomas Bamundo ’10TCB capitalized on every opportunity that came his way. He credits his participation in the University’s Executive-in-Residence program, which allows students to serve as real-world consultants to actual corporate and nonprofit organizations, and an internship at Sony Music, with helping him forge a successful career as Operations and Admissions Supervisor for the NBC Studios Tour at the New York broadcast facility.
“St. John’s set me on the path that led to where I am today,” said Bamundo. “The best skill I developed as a student was public speaking, which has served me well in every phase of my career.” He also found a lead on his first job after college through University Career Services when the NBC page program recruited on campus.
Bamundo cites his internship at Sony Music for giving him an early opportunity to use his business education in an industry that captured his imagination “The most beneficial part of the internship,” he said, “was putting it on my résumé. The page program generally only accepts applicants with industry-related experience. Without my Sony internship, I would not have been offered my job at NBC—and without St. John’s, I would have never secured the internship.”
