Accounting, Juris Doctor / Master of Science
The Department of Accounting and Taxation, in conjunction with St. John’s School of Law, offers a special combined degree program leading to a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a Master of Science in Accounting. Because this combined degree program is designed to meet the New York State education requirements for licensure as a certified public accountant, law students are required to have completed 36 semester hours of business courses, but those business courses can be completed within the program by law courses with a business emphasis.
The program provides qualified students with a significant time and tuition savings, because the J.D./M.S. can be pursued simultaneously rather than consecutively. Students who earn both degrees will have academic preparation that will enhance their employment opportunities in business, industry, and private practice.
Applicants the JD/MBA and JD/MS programs must being accepted into the School of Law prior to applying to the Tobin College of Business.

Admission to Tobin’s graduate business programs is open only to applicants holding a bachelor’s degree from accredited institutions who show promise of success in graduate business studies.
