Exam Review Programs
St. John’s University has teamed up with the New York Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA) to offer a reimbursement program for CFA review courses and review materials.
The program is available to all MS in Investment Management students with no other qualifications or application required. Graduate students enrolled other graduate programs and 4th year undergraduate students enrolled in the BS Finance program are eligible for the program after submitting an application and meeting the following requirements:
• 3.00 GPA (for graduate students)
• 3.00 overall and 3.25 major GPA (for undergraduate students)
• Letter of recommendation from one finance or accounting faculty member
• Letter of intent as to why the CFA is being pursued
The CFA Level 1 exam is offered twice per year—once in June and once in December. The NYSSA runs its review courses for approximately four months preceding the exam. Students can take the exam during their last two semesters in their program, or they may take the first review session and exam immediately following graduation. Students must take the review course immediately preceding the exam date. For example, a student taking the December 2013 CFA Level 1 exam must take the review course that ends in the week before the December 2013 CFA Level 1 exam.
1) Download and submit completed application to Mark Ulrich at email@example.com.
2) Once approved, you will then sign up for the NYSSA review course using a special order form and order review materials using a special link and code. You will also receive the reimbursement claim form at this time.
3) Ensure you are registered for the CFA exam.
4) Submit reimbursement claim.
Deadlines: August 1, 2013 for fall 2013 review classes to sit for the CFA Exam in December 2013.
