Academic Success Center
The College’s Academic Success Center (ASC) was developed to provide academic support to enhance student success in the various programs offered on the undergraduate level of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Tutoring services are provided for discipline specific courses that may not be available through the services provided by University Learning Commons. Academic support is made available in the College’s Health Education Resource Center (HERC, St. Augustine Hall, Room B40) in an inviting and collaborative environment that encourages, promotes, and fosters independent learning skills.
The center provides group and individualized tutoring for a variety of professional courses within the professional curricula of the College. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Biopharmaceutical Chemistry
- Clinical Pharmacokinetics
- Drugs and Diseases/Disease State Management
- Extemporaneous Compounding
- Medicinal Chemistry
The Academic Success Center is staffed with both full-time faculty as well as peer tutors who are employed part-time by the College who are familiar with the subject matter to be reviewed. All peer tutors are upper classmen in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences who have demonstrated overall academic excellence as well as a proficiency in the discipline being supported.
To schedule an appointment with a tutor, please email them directly at least 24 hours prior to the desired appointment. Walk-in tutoring may be available on a limited basis in HERC.
