Welcome!
Congratulations on your acceptance as part of the St. John’s
University Faculty community. In an effort to make your transition
to our campus as smooth as possible, we have prepared this section
of the Provost’s site as a channel to the information you
need. Just follow the links provided below.
Paperwork and Logistics
UIS (University Information System) is the management software,
which the university uses to maintain information on all students
and employees. It is important to note that your information will
not be entered into UIS
until all your employment paperwork has been completed. You
can check with your chair’s office to make sure that you have
completed everything and that it has been submitted.
Once you are entered into the system you will be able to:
- Obtain an ID card, called a StormCard, which provides access to
the University Libraries
- Access email
- Access St. John's Central, the University's portal for students
and employees which provides access to homepages for your courses,
UIS itself, and links to many University services
- Apply for a parking permit
The Center for Teaching and Learning has a CTL forum webpage (http://stjohns.campusguides.com/ctlforum)
which has a great deal of information about teaching and about the
University.
The "Teaching" tab (
http://stjohnscampusguides.com/content.php?pid=71651&sid=590232)
may be particularly useful for new faculty.
