There are a variety of scholarships and fellowships available
to graduate students that are independent of St. John’s
University, meaning they are not awarded by the University. In
addition there are a limited number of graduate assistantships
available.
Graduate Scholarships or Fellowships
The Graduate Admissions
Assistance Program (GAAP), located in Room B5 in St.
John's Hall, is the office that oversees graduate student
applications to external scholarships. The staff of the GAAP Office
will assist you in determining your eligibility for scholarships
and in completing the application process. Some scholarships
require that you submit the application directly through the GAAP
Office.
Graduate Assistantships and University
Fellows
Graduate assistantships (GA) are available to students
enrolled full-time in one of the graduate programs of the
University. They provide full tuition and a small stipend and
require employment in one of the academic or
administrative departments of the University. The GA works for
15-20 hours per week based on a schedule that is compatible with
both the needs of the department and the student. There is
currently no central office that coordinates availability.
Please contact the individual offices directly for Graduate
Assistantship availability.
