Queens, NY – In celebration of February being Women’s Heart
Month, St. John's University Women in Science Society (Office of
Grants and Sponsored Research) and the Office of Community
Relations will co-sponsor a presentation on heart disease.

“According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the
number one killer of women in America,” said Marylou Curcio Szabo,
Ph.D., Coordinator, Women in Science Society/Office of Grants &
Sponsored Research at St. John's University. “It is necessary
for us to promote good heart health for our well being as well as
our loved ones.”
Debra Tillis, Queens Coordinator Volunteer of WomenHeart, the
National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease will visit the St.
John's University Queens campus to discuss the prevention, signs
and causes of heart disease.
