Justice (ret.), Supreme Court of the State of New York,
11th Judicial District, Criminal Term
Justice Demakos is widely known for his decision ensuring black
participation on the jury hearing the landmark 1980’s Howard Beach
murder case. Later upheld on appeal, the decision set a precedent
in New York State courts.
