Accessing Library Resources from Off Campus

Off campus access to licensed online library resources (full-text databases, reference sources, and other online research and information sources) is available only to current St. John's students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

There are two ways to access these resources remotely:
  1. Use the St. John's dial-up network, REDNet, for Internet access. This will automatically give you access to all the Libraries' resources as well as to the Internet.

Note: Dialing into REDNet is a telephone call, so if you live outside local calling distance from the Queens campus you will be charged by your long-distance carrier.

  2. Regardless of where you are – on campus or off campus – click directly on links to databases and other library resources. You'll be asked to log in to any restricted resource. When you log in, use your St. John's Central account username and password.

Note: You must use either Netscape or Internet Explorer to access Library Resources from off campus.

If you have problems or questions, call the St. John's University Computer Labs [718-990-6672 or 718-990-6748] for assistance.
