Frederick W. Ecker Liberal Arts Collection
houses our liberal arts materials, with heavy emphasis on general
business reference works, management texts, marketing, leadership,
diversity, and ethics.
Life Insurance Association of America donated
1800 volumes in 1965. The Library continues to maintain and house
the collection.
Heber Bishop Churchill Collection, donated in
1951, consists of articles on earthquakes and windstorms, bound
together and indexed by the library's catalogers. These materials
provide detailed accounts of major catastrophes from the early part
of the century, such as the Tokyo earthquake of 1923, the San
Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906, typhoons of Japan,
1920-1940, and hurricanes of the North Atlantic, New England, and
the Caribbean.
William David Winter Collection consists of
ocean marine insurance-related books and publications.
Average Adjusters Association of the United States
Collection of American and British maritime law. Within
this collection are rare books and papers on marine insurance
dating to the early 1800s.
Insurance Associations Statistical Reports from
major insurance associations around the world.
Conference Proceedings from major risk
management associations and actuarial societies.
Insurance Department Reports providing
statistical data submitted by insurance commissioners to the state
legislatures each year, and a growing number of annual reports
issued by insurance commissioners of other countries.
Vertical Files
180 file drawers containing articles, speeches, sample
forms and policies that chronicle insurance industry history and
product development, worldwide.
Company Reports
Files are maintained for the larger insurance companies,
including annual reports, 10-Ks, annual statements and/or DTI
filings, where applicable.
Government Documents Room
As a US government depository, we maintain a collection of
government documents in print, microfiche and CD-ROM.
Archives of The College of Insurance and the Insurance
Society of New York (ISNY), plus the proceedings and
correspondence of the Insurance Company Education Directors
Society, now known as SITE; newsletters and scrapbooks of
Insurance Women of New York; and the New York Chapter of
the CPCU.
