Library Statistics

Another very active year in the Davis Library. The busiest period in the spring semester was March - April and the busiest month of the fall semester 2012 was October. Almost 14,000 visitors were in the library with many of them spending most of the day in research. Accurate gate numbers were not kept during November and December this year because of Hurricane Sandy and due to the Davis library operating in temporary quarters at the main SJU campus in Queens.  No final totals are given for visitors this year but at a glance we appear to be roughly on par with last year's trends. OCLC services continue to be offered from the Manhattan Campus with most of the requests coming as loans from our collection to other institutions. We expect these lending trends to continue in the coming year especially as we upload an additional 20 - 30K records from our catalog to the OCLC system .
