Full Service Book Retrieval at the Queens Library!
September 05, 2008
For a limited time this semester, the Queens Library is offering
full service book retrieval. Just look in the catalog for the
items you want, make a note of the pertinent information (title,
author, call number) and stop by the Circulation desk in the
Academic Commons (St. Augustine Hall, 1st floor) to submit
requests. If you prefer, you can call your requests in
(718-990-6850). Please plan on a turnaround time of at least 1
hour, although we can often get your books faster. Unfortunately,
due to construction, we don’t have access to every book in the
collection, but if we can’t get your book right away, we’ll keep
trying and notify you when it’s available. If you can’t wait, we
can refer you to an area library that owns the book or request it
via interlibrary loan.
This service enables you to save time and multitask:
- Call in your requests from home and pick up the books when you
arrive on campus – you commute while we retrieve your books!
- Request the books you need and spend some quiet study time in
the Academic Commons – you’ll have your books and be ready for
class too!
- Place your requests in the evening and sleep in the next
morning – we’ll go get your books while you sleep!
Remember, this service will be offered only for a limited time
while the Queens Library renovations are completed.
