Records Management for the University
was implemented in 1997 as a component of an all-University
archives and records program. Records management is under the
supervision of the University Archivist and the Dean of the
Libraries and is thus a component of the academic structure of the
University. The position of Records Manager, an administrative
position, was created in 1997 and implemented by former University
Archivist Dr. Marilyn Pettit, Dean Emeritus of the Libraries Sr.
Marie Melton, R.S.M., former Acting Dean of the Libraries (1997-98)
Julie Cunningham and former University Provost Dr. Tony H.
