St. John's University has campuses in Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island, and Oakdale, NY; as well as in Rome, Italy.

"Jamaica" is the historic name for the area of Long Island now encompassed by the borough of Queens, a New York City borough and also a New York State county. Many former towns and villages on Long Island have retained their historic place names, such as Flatbush, Williamsburg, Bushwick, and New Utrecht in Brooklyn, and Flushing, Maspeth and Jamaica in Queens. The Queens campus is in the center of the borough of Queens, and is readily accessible by automobile, subway and bus from all areas of the city.
