New to the department is Sr. Ellen Smith RSM, who began working
at St. John’s in August. Sr. Ellen comes to St. John’s after 10
years as Director of Communications for the Sisters of Mercy in
Brooklyn, NY. As Assistant to the Assistant Provost, Sr. Ellen is
responsible for providing administrative support to the Assistant
Provost in the areas of Academic Service-Learning and the Ozanam
Scholar’s Program.
“One of my hopes is to do what I can to promote the Academic
Service-Learning/Ozanam Scholar’s Program through submitting
articles and photos to the website. Many exciting events are
planned for this year and the level of enthusiasm in students who
visit the office is very encouraging,” remarked Sr. Ellen.
