Stephen C. Bicsko CM, began at St. John’s 24 years ago.
Initially, he worked in Campus Ministry, and then moved into the
area of Student Life as an Associate Dean. After that he became
involved in Academic Service-Learning as a Faculty Consultant. In
that role he works to recruit new faculty for Academic
Service-Learning as well as meeting with veteran faculty, Deans and
chairpersons to see how AS-L is working in their departments. In
addition, Fr. Bicsko conducts faculty workshops and communicates
with the Law School’s program. He also teaches Introduction to the
Bible and the Vincent DePaul and the Meaning of Christian Service
courses as a member of the Theology Department.
When asked about his hopes for this year Fr. Bicsko shared that
he would, “like to increase the number of faculty involved in
Academic Service-Learning as well as helping them to deepen the
reflection process of AS-L. I’d also like to move the process of
Academic Service-Learning to the Staten Island campus.”
