Minor in Global Studies

Welcome to the Global Studies Minor Page

The Minor in Global Studies is a new academic program aimed at providing students with the opportunity to focus their education on understanding the interconnections between and among various nations and cultures throughout the world, a project that has become increasingly important in recent years as trade and travel between regions and countries increases exponentially.

Global Studies is a multidisciplinary field of study, incorporating aspects of History, Government, Philosophy, Anthropology, Literatures and Languages, Religion and Theology and Economics. The Global Studies minor allows students to engage with these fields while at the same time enhancing their study abroad experiences, using established Global Studies programs to create a unique academic platform.

At its core, the Global Studies minor program is built around the reality that a provincial education can no longer be considered complete. Courses offered within the minor prepare students for graduate study as well as for careers in law, academia, government, international business, media and more.
