Participation in the orientation sessions is an important
requirement that must be completed prior to your departure. You
must attend a Site-Specific AND a Pre-Departure Orientation
session. The information presented during these sessions will help
prepare you for the program and allow you to make the
most of your experience abroad.
Can't make it in person? All orientation sessions are
conducted simultaneously via internet and phone. Sign up with our
office to participate and you will be able to see the slides, hear
the presenter, and ask questions via the online chat system. If you

Below is the orientation schedule. There is no limit to the
number of orientation sessions you attend but make sure
you attend at least one.

The Site-Specific Orientation is organized by the
program's faculty leader and will provide detailed information
on your program.
Pre-Departure Orientation
The general Pre-Departure Orientation will include
information on the advance preparations, university regulations,
travel tips and advice necessary to help keep you safe and
healthy while abroad.

Online Pre-Departure Orientation
Available simulataneously with each of the in-person orientations.
In order to attend the online orientation, you must sign up with
our office at least one day before the orientation takes place. We
will email you the access information the day of the scheduled
orientation session. You can sign up by calling 718-990-6105 or
emailing globalstudies@stjohns.edu.

address and phone number.
Please keep in mind that our office is not able to conduct
individual orientations. While we are always available to
answer specific questions, we do not have the availability to cover
all the orientation material with individuals. If you have
