Orientation Information

Participation in the pre-departure orientation is an important requirement that must be completed prior to your departure. The information presented during these sessions will help prepare you for the program and allow you to make the most of your experience abroad. You'll get detailed information on what you can expect from the program and what we expect of you. But perhaps most importantly, if you don't complete the pre-departure requirements you won't be able to go abroad.

Let your parents know that we also have pre-departure orientation sessions (online and in-person) scheduled for them as well!! We're relying on you to inform your parents of these information sessions and encourage them to attend.

Mandatory Pre-Departure Orientations:

If you are unable to attend the orientation specified below, you will need to attend an online make-up pre-departure orientation and provide verification that you met with the faculty or program leader to receive the program specific information.

If you are unable to attend the regularly scheduled orientation for your program, you will need to complete an online make-up orientation. The online make-up orientations will be held after the in-person orientations and will be announced to students as we are notified of their inability to attend the mandatory pre-departure orientation. It is your responsibility to inform us of the reason for your absence and RSVP for the appropriate make-up pre-departure orientation.  

RSVP required! In order to attend the online make-up pre-departure orientation, you must sign up with our office at least one day before the orientation takes place. We will email you the access information the day before the scheduled orientation session. You can sign up by calling 718-990-6105 or emailing globalstudies@stjohns.edu. Please provide your name, email address and phone number.
