How to Make Your Appointment

The Italian Consulate requires that you call 1-800-405-0044 to make your appointment. The cost is $2.49 per minute. Their phone lines are open from 8:30 am - 8:30 pm. Make sure to call as early in the morning as possible. Slots fill up fast and you don’t want to be left out.

When to Make Your Appointment

The Italian Consulates requires applicants make an appointment.  The available time slots fill up quickly, so make your appointment now.  Keep in mind that your appointment cannot be schedule more than 90 days prior to your departure date.  However, you should schedule the appointment right away, making sure that it falls within the 90-day limit for when you enter the country.

For your program, that 90-day window begins on March 22.

If you wait until the last minute to schedule an appointment, you will likely get an appointment too late to receive your visa before you depart.  Should this happen, please contact our office immediately; while we cannot guarantee a solution, we can certainly work with you to find one.

Where to Get Your Visa

The consulate at which you apply for your visa is determined by where you live. Residents of New York State and Connecticut, as well as residents of northern New Jersey, will apply through the Italian consulate in New York City.  Use the consulate information links below to get a listing of other Italian Consulates around the country and their contact information. If you have questions about where you should apply please contact our office at (718) 990-6105.
